ginger: pinecone

Pinecone ginger is a tuber that grows 5-6 foot stems with leaves. Red pinecone-like blossoms sprout up from the ground. Also known as “shampoo ginger,” you can squeeze the bulb to extract a ginger scented liquid you can wash up with! Pinecone gingers love the shade and are drought tolerant once established.
