Direct Sown Love in a Mist and Bachelor’s Buttons: Zone 9 Central Florida

bachelor's buttons

In this short tour, I spend time delighting over my Nigella/Love in a Mist annuals that I sowed directly into the garden (yes, on top of pine bark mulch) in December. They are reliable and beautiful coming in pastels of blue/lavender, pink, white and even yellow. Their delicate dill like feathery textured leaves contrast well with the broad leaves of the daylilies and the tiny leaves of the dwarf yaupon hollies.

Another great direct sow annual is Bachelor’s buttons which also comes in pastel shades of blue/lavender, pink and white.

I also focus on my iceberg bush rose as well as direct sown yellow coreopsis/tick seed and pink and magenta phlox.
