One of the issues with planting in Florida is that you really have to hit the timing just right. The fall is the time to plant flower seeds that will bloom in the spring.
My garden is always full of self-seeding coreopsis and phlox come March. I have had some success with Nigella (Love in a Mist), Bachelor’s Buttons, Gomphrena, and Monarda. At the beginning of this year, I planted Alyssum way to late and it basically fried before it could flower so you really need to plant it in the fall.
This year, I have found a couple of great zone 9b(ish) flower gardeners on youtube. It’s time to clear out the zinnias and cockscombs and save the seeds of your gomphrena. Here are some of the things they are planting in November:
